This
is the medium in which my heart truly lies. Film, whether
cinema or television, has been something I've longed to
be a part of for over two decades now.
My first taste of being in
front of a camera came when Gardner White Furniture filmed
a television commercial at my high school. I was an extra
in the bleachers.
After graduating I took a
course through our local public access television station
to get my public access producer's license. They trained
us in lighting, manning the cameras, directing, editing...
you name it. I loved it all.
I then spent 6 months working
with a Closed Captioning company. Through them I captioned
a variety of shows for HGTV and the Food Network.
My oldest daughter and I got
to participate as drawing students / audience members for
Mark Kistler's Imagination Station in the summer of 2008.
They recorded our week-long drawing lessons to be aired
on PBS in the fall of 2009.
More recently, I got to be
on set for the movie What's Wrong With Virginia as an extra.
I can't wait to have another opportunity for parts like
this.
