I
decided to give cake decorating a try in 2009 after watching
numerous episodes of Amazing Wedding Cakes on WeTV.
People were delighted with
the little pink and blue party cake I came up with for a
family tea party. That was my first multi-tiered cake.
Then just four days before
her 8th Birthday, our oldest daughter asked me to make her
a Twilight cake.
I know that with my art, when
I try to plan ahead, something usually goes awry. So instead
of trying to force a path for the cake, I just let it come
in whatever shape or form it wanted to. I was happy with
the end result and so was my daughter, her sister, and all
of their friends.
I was surprised at how many
requests I had to see the finished confection, and then
even more surprised as the requests starting coming in to
make cakes for others.
As flattered as I am by all
of the requests, at this time I am going to make cake decorating
a hobby that I do exclusively for my family.
